Orange
Orange is a bit cleaner than Arles and lacked the hordes of tourists. It doesn't boast an Amphitheater but rather a theater. An amphitheater is a full oval and a theater is exactly half that with a stage wall. There's only 4 Roman theaters still in existence with the stage wall intact and one is at Orange. While we were at the theater they were doing dress rehearsals of Phantom of the Opera. Had we still been in the area the next week we would have gone to see it. How cool is it to see an Opera in a 2000 year old Roman theater?
