Trogir
Possibly where I will end up buying property. Trogir is a 2300 year old city on a small island connected to the mainland by bridge. Opposite the mainland from Trogir is a much larger island called Ciovo that is connected to Trogir via drawbridge.
The daily Trogir market is as impressive as the Split market but Trogir is less touristed and much more calm. There's a ferry that leaves Ciovo for Split and it takes about 30 minutes or you can take the city bus in about 50 minutes. The Split airport is actually a 6 minute bus ride from Trogir which puts it much closer to Trogir than to Split.
