The Irish Times pub was built originally as the Bank of Montreal in 1894 by Francis Rattenbury, the man who designed the Parliament building and the Empress Hotel. Rattenbury designed the building in a French Chateaux style due to the bank being from Quebec. This style was later used on the Empress Hotel as well.
Now the building makes an amazing setting for a pub. It has two floors, a small stage and lots of bar space. Upstairs there are little balcony rooms to give the illusion of privacy while still being open. The beer selection is decent and the food is good as well. The waiters wear kilts and the waitresses wear cute little checkered short skirts. What's not to like?
