• As of June 2004 seventy-one percent of all web servers in the world were running Apachelamp and that figure was still climbing. Add in MySQL, the most popular open source database and tie it together with the fifth most popular programming language in the world and you just can't go wrong. There are over 5 million websites using this combination including Google.com and Amazon.com so the odds of getting employed as a php/mysql developer look pretty good. In this class we will install and configure Apache 2, MySQL 4 and PHP 4 . You will learn to set up and secure SQL databases. You will create dynamic html by querying the database via PHP. When you complete this class you will have the foundation knowledge needed to create a database driven website. We will tackle several projects in class including making a messageboard and a shopping cart.
