• Shoreline Community College Intro to Programming
    Class schedule: July 26th - July 30th 2004
    Class times: M-F 9:30-3:30

This class will introduce students to programming. Students will learn about programming form, logic and flow. This will allow the students to write eligible code that can be easily followed and debugged by themselves or others. Students will learn about variables, arrays, functions, conditional statements and loops. We will be using the PHP programming language but these concepts can be applied to any language. We will then apply the basics of programming to web applications. PHP has the ability to retrieve data from a database and create web pages on the fly. This class builds on the material covered in the Web Design Teen Camp to create database driven websites. In order to accomplish this task we will also cover beginning SQL commands using the MySQL database as well. Upon completing the class students will be able to create a web page that inserts data into a database, sorts data from the database and displays it in a clear manner. I will also help you install a Portal, messageboard and chatroom software on your site.

One year of web server space including domain name (www.yoursite.com) is included with this class. This is a $137 value!

This class is for high school students with computer skills and knowledge of html.
